Captains Lumina and Oblivia Starlight
The Eclipse is unusual because it has not one, but two captains. Twin sisters, Lumina and Oblivia Starlight have shared the captaincy since they came of age, and for the past half a century they have steered the ship firmly. Though the oldest of the crew they lead, the sisters remain with the youthful appearance and vigour of women in their early twenties, their lifespans the legacy of advanced rejuvenation technology that died with the Human Empire.
The sisters typically run sixteen-hour shifts, overlapping with eachother for two hours before one retires to their rest. Lumina is known as the voice of reason, being wise, charismatic and fair to a fault. Her counterpart Oblivia is more impetuous at times, but possesses a spark of genius that even her twin admires. Though they quarrel at times like sisters, their bond runs deep and so far they have maintained order upon their ship.
First Officer Twilight Spark
Twilight Spark is the First Officer onboard the Eclipse, and her authority is second only to the captains. A young woman only just coming into the prime of her life, Twilight is well known for several things. All have come to recognize her lavender hair, and to respect the vast knowledge she possesses concerning all shipboard matters. Indeed, it is widely believed that Twilight Spark is not just someone who advanced by merit, but was being groomed to eventually take on captaincy of the Eclipse. She regularly receives private tuition from the two Captains, taking up much of her time.
Twilight is known to be very studious, almost to the point of being a recluse. Though she is always helpful when approached, she mingles little with others among the crew, and is rarely seen outside the company of either the Captains or her fellow high-ranking officers, who are the only ones with which Twilight exhibits a genuine friendship.
Chief Navigator Aurora Flash
Aurora Flash is the Chief Nagivator of the Eclipse, a feisty young woman known for her great beauty and impatience in equal measure. Her lean, athletic build and rainbow-coloured hair have made her the envy of many a man aboard the Eclipse, but she has never shown any interest in return, remaining exclusively in the company of other women. Though impatient to go about all things including her duties, Aurora Flash possesses a natural affinity with her role, her keen mind able to analyse hundreds of scenarios involving external factors, environmental conditions and enemy positions in order to quickly formulate a flight path. Her actions tempered by her colleagues, Aurora Flash is a formidable asset for the ship.
Chief Technician Simlia Rarity
First Technician of the Eclipse, Rarity has taken the maintenance of a ship and turned it into an art form. Driven by an impeccable attention to detail and a perfect memory, Rarity single-handedly co-ordinates the technical aspect of the entire ship, ensuring that everything runs to the highest standards. In her free time Simlia enjoys a sophisticated life, and attends every gala onboard the ship, where countless men compete for her fleeting attentions.
Chief Weapons Officer Jackie Punch
The head of military matters, Jackie Punch is a pragmatic young woman who grew up on a farm, and despite her rank she still retains the brown Stetson hat gifted to her by her father.. Having very little, she managed to join the military and work her way up on merit, until she was selected to join the inaugural crew of the Eclipse. Strengthened and kept humble by the hardships of her past, Jackie Punch is forthright and strong. It takes great character to make a good impression upon her, but to those who earn her respect Jackie is loyal to a fault.
Chief of Morale Estatia Pinks
Chief of Morale onboard a ship geared towards death, one would think it an impossible role. But with boundless enthusiasm and more than a little insanity, the bubbly woman by the name of Estatia Pinks has managed to liven up the ship. With a penchant for mischief and a knack for organizing parties, none who have ever met Estatia Pinks have remained unchanged by the experience. Her love of pranks has not gone unnoticed either, but the Captains tolerate the occasional infraction in the name of keeping an atmosphere of joy onboard their ship.
However, Estatia Pinks has another role to play. Her ability to formulate unusual tactics and methods has made her the equivalent of a master tactician, and thus she is included whenever battle plans are discussed amongst the senior military officers, all of whom have been impressed with her ideas thus far. Notable successes involve a series of cloaked radio transmissions which caused a mutiny onboard an enemy flagship, launching scrambler beacons disguised as debris onto enemy ships to teleport them into nearby stars, and driving enemies directly into their cloaked ship through clever mirrors and projections.
Chief Medical Officer Flutter Hart
Flutter Hart is the kindest person onboard the Eclipse, caring more for the lives of others than she does her own. Which is just as well, because she is the one responsible for saving them. Ever since her youth, Flutter Hart was shown to have an extraordinary connection to other beings, able to tell at a glance if they were suffering, the causes and likely cures. This ability allowed a rapid rise through the ranks of the medical profession, until she was noticed and offered a place onboard the Eclipse. Though Flutter Hart was receiving a great honour, the truth was she would not have gone had Aurora Flash not accepted her own post there. Loyal unto death, Flutter Hart left behind the life she knew for the sake of her first friend.
Chief Communications Officer Flare Depth
The only man amongst the ranking officers, many crew members believed that Flare Depth would prove the worth of their gender. Unfortunately for the resident males, the Chief Communications Officer is at the beck and call of the others. Ever since early childhood he has been good friends with Twilight Spark, now the First Officer, and in recent years Flare has been hopelessly in love with his colleague Simlia Rarity. Though technically of equal rank to the others, Flare instead serves as a sort of assistant, ensuring that the affairs of everyone else are kept in order when they need it.
Discord “The Dreamer”
Formerly the head of the Royal Guard, Discord was known for his fanciful imagination and keen wit, earning him a nickname as “The Dreamer”. When the Eclipse fled their dying world, Discord continued his service as captain of the ship’s marines, but after a failed revolt under Captain Oblivia, Discord vanished from memory and was presumed dead. That is, until he came back.
The Phantom
None know who the mysterious Phantom is, nor has anyone even seen him. Discord claims that he is a spirit interested in keeping the Eclipse safe, but his goals have yet to be seen.
Abigail
A curious Void Rat, part of the family that stowed away on theEclipse before it departed. Being half as tall as a human when sitting on her haunches, Abigail has the ability to communicate in the human tongue, and finds the crew members fascinating. She seems to have befriended the Senior Officers, and alerted them to a hole in the hull.
The Wonderbolts
A squad of veteran warriors, The Wonderbolts are the best of the best, and an inspiration to everyone aboard the Eclipse. Led by Corporal Spitfire and her long-time friend Sergeant Soarin, The Wonderbolts are known for never failing any mission assigned their way.
